· Poorer vision after surgery – Basically the patient’s vision will be worse than it was before the lazer eye surgery.
· Delayed healing and infection – There is a less than 1 in 1000 chance of the cornea developing a infection following the operation and can usually be treated.
· Dry eye syndrome – As a result of your laser correction eye surgery, your eye may not produce enough tears, meaning the eye isn’t moist and become uncomfortable. It may present visual symptoms, and eye drop treatment and surgery may be needed. It could also become permanent.
· Under or over correction – Each person’s eyes respond differently to lazer eye surgery, therefore predicting the outcome following surgery is extremely difficult. This means further surgery may be needed to improve your vision further or lenses may still be needed.
